On Thursday, July 11, 2013, El Paso’s own classic rock band, PRIME, rocked McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre for another weekly edition of the summer concert series, Cool Canyon Nights.
With Larry Gonzalez on lead guitar and vocals, Ruben Flores on drums, and Danny Frangione on the bass and keyboards, PRIME delivered a high-energy performance of rock and disco favorites from the past four decades to a crowd that showed its appreciation with quite a few people dancing in their seats.
Using his wireless guitar to good advantage, guitarist Larry Gonzalez wowed the crowd with hot guitar solos while walking up and down the aisles of the amphitheatre. Several members of the audience were also invited on stage to play the tambourines and dance for the crowd.
By the time the show ended after more than two hours of great music, one couldn’t help noticing a lot of smiling faces as the crowd made its way to the exits and out into the cool, canyon night.
